This comparator for shotblasting is specially designed to check the roughness of steel surfaces which have been blast cleaned to cleanliness grades SA 2.5 and SA 3 before painting. It conforms to ISO 8503.
Using this surface comparator as a reference material, the blasted surface can be compared with the four profile classes in each comparator. The profiles are recorded in microns.
- 4 profile classes:
  ISO 8503/1: 23~28, 35~45, 60~80, 85~115 µm
  ISO 8503/3: 26.15, 35.65, 63.2, 96.45 µm
  ISO 8503/4: 24.9, 39.06, 75.19, 92.28 µm
