This comparator for gritblasting is specially designed to check the roughness of steel surfaces which have been blast cleaned to cleanliness grades SA 2.5 and SA 3 before painting. It conforms to ISO 8503.

Using this surface comparator as a reference material, the blasted surface can be compared with the four profile classes in each comparator. The profiles are recorded in microns.

- 4 profile classes:

ISO 8503/1: 23~28, 50~70, 85~115, 130~170 µm

ISO 8503/3: 24.95, 64.3, 103.95, 153.1 µm

ISO 8503/4: 26.46, 62.7, 90.8, 147.71 µm
